My first time in an International 14
I am still very much a learner and currently sail an old 420, sometimes with a crew but mostly solo.
When Oliver Williams asked me if I fancied crewing from him in Rhubarb & Custard his International 14, I jumped at the chance to broaden my sailing skills and experience.
Oliver did explain that there were some major differences between his boat and my dingy but I thought yeah yeah I can sail, bring it on.
Boy was I wrong!! I worked so very very hard and I have never sailed in a boat with a spinnaker, never mind operated one.
Oliver was kind and patient and we survived the first race.
The video shows my down-fall in the second race.
Would I do it again? Totally and I highly recommend this experience to everybody.
Will Oliver be asking me to crew again in the near future - I doubt it!!
Has Oliver turned 'Mr Safety' into a thrill-seeking junkie?
