Perth Sailing Club Committee News 25th May 2012

Committee News
A meeting was held on 25th May.
A recent meeting with the estates people from St Andrews was held and their new plans for a boat shed produced. A copy is available on the club board.
These are now in line with what was originally suggested and the committee agreed to allow them to go ahead to produce derailed proposals. Before these are finally accepted we will call an EGM for the membership to have a final vote. In the meantime please feel free to approach any committee member and make your views know.
The sail to Perth and the Open day were discussed. We were blessed with some nice weather on the Open day and a number of families and individual came down and seemed impressed. The numbers were put down to the efforts to publicise the event by Audrey and Keith, albeit at short notice.

Since there have been requests by other people for more access to open days it has been decided to hold two more open days on the evening of 25th July and 22nd August, with perhaps a combined social event, such as a BBQ.
Please let anyone know and encourage any friends or colleagues who might be interested in trying sailing with us to come along.
The sailing course is starting. The swimming pool has been booked to allow capsize drill to take place on Sunday 10th June.

John Fergusson is grateful for all the help we can give him. It was agreed that we would arrange for the newcomers to be assigned a mentor after the course to encourage newcomers  to continue with us after they have their certificates.
Malcolm Moore,
Commodore
